What does the Fabrication Team do?

The fabrication team is responsible for manufacturing and assembling components of the plane. We are in charge of transforming and integrating designs into a physical end product. Once completed, the plane is tested for its integrity and performance. Being in a machine shop means a completely hands-on experience. We conduct safety training for each tool we use.

As a fabrication team member, you will:

• Utilize foam cutting tools to produce wing, horizontal stabilizer, and vertical stabilizer
• Select composites in the manufacturing process for most parts and subsystems of plane
• Cure and create high quality composite parts by using vacuum bagging techniques
• Utilize laser cutting machine and power tools to create and assemble plane frame
